Nobody dug the water on this golf course. The hazards are shallow lagoons that were lying on the ground already, inside what is now the Flommen nature reserve, at the southern tip of Sweden on the Baltic. The club is the country's third oldest, founded on 21 October 1909. Its first nine holes were at Strandbaden, where the grass grew badly, so in 1911 it moved out to the ground by Falsterbo lighthouse, standing since 1796. The eighteen-hole course was consecrated in the summer of 1930 and completed in 1934. Peter Senior won the PLM Open here in 1986, two strokes ahead of Mats Lanner; the Challenge Tour's Skandia PGA Open came in 2003, and the European Ladies Amateur Championship was played here in 2009.

It is one of the few links courses in Sweden. Every green was rebuilt between 1995 and 2001, and the course reopened in 2002 with more movement in the putting surfaces, the work of Peter Nordwall and Peter Chamberlain. Par is 71, and from the white tees the card comes to 6,080 metres. The seventh is the oldest golf hole in Sweden. It was the ninth of the nine that Robert Turnbull, of the Copenhagen club, built out by the lighthouse in 1911, and it is still in play.
