Alfred Dunhill Championship (2005–2024)

Kruger National Park begins on the far bank of the Crocodile River. The golf is on this side, built by Gary Player and opened in 1996 for the banker Johann Rupert, who still owns it. Crocodile, hippo, antelope, buffalo and elephant are all seen from the fairways. Rupert first asked the sculptor Dylan Lewis for one monumental leopard for the clubhouse; Lewis proposed a series instead, and there is now a sculpture at every hole, following one animal through a single day from Leopard Lying on Rock at the first tee to Leopard Standing on Slope at the eighteenth. Ernie Els won the first Alfred Dunhill Championship played here, in 2005.

Everyone comes for the thirteenth. From the gold tees it is a par five of 502 metres, and its green sits on the lip of the Crocodile River, 32 metres above the water, with the park spread out beyond. That green took the worst of the floods of January and February 2000, when the river burst its banks; the rebuild ran to millions of rand. From the same tees the round measures 6,501 metres, rated 76.0 against a slope of 147. Shaun Norris won the last Dunhill played here, in 2024; the 2025 edition moved to Royal Johannesburg.
